Invitation to our GESS Chinese New Year cum Total Defence Day Celebrations

Invitation to our GESS Chinese New Year
cum Total Defence Day Celebrations

on 12 Feb. 2010 from 7.20 a.m. to 12 noon.

All Gessians (parents, pupils, and members of SAC and GESSOSA) are all cordially invited to join our school to celebrate the Chinese New Year and commemorate our Total Defence Day on 12 Feb(Friday morning) from 7.20 a.m.

The highlight of that day is to sing in unity our National Anthem during our Flag-raising ceremony at 7.25 a.m. We have invited some elderly guests to share our joy and infuse respect for and gratitude to these senior citizens who had contributed to our strong economic and social structure. There will be performances by the Singapore Dragon & Lion Athletic Association, our International Dance group, Fanciful Tiger competition, Skit on total defence etc.

You can move with your children to the different booths in our school to experience traditional handicraft making, Chinese Calligraphy, traditional games, tea appreciation, idiom games and CNY goodies.

Please contact Mdm You Chang Ying or Mdm Foo Lee Lian if you are able to join our school and also help at any of these booths.

Our school would like to wish all Gessians a very happy Chinese New Year.

Principal's Message

Release of 2009 GCE O-Level Results

At Gan Eng Seng School (GESS), we are determined to know the strength of character in the GESS spirit in our 125 years of heritage.

Our faith lies in our School Creed penned by our sixth principal, Mr. Aroozoo. Thus our faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the living out our love for life, one another, love of mankind, love of life itself and love of God.

Our teachers' labour of love is the hallmark of the GESS education and the signature is the support of our School Advisory Committee (SAC), GESS Old Students' Assocaition (GESSOSA), which together with the parents of our students, we leave a legacy.

And now our GESSians are the living epistle (letter) of the credible legacy received and have arisen with the fire of leadership.

As they live the legacy, they will leave behind a legacy captured in the theme of the 125th Anniversary aptly stated as "Times of our Life".

They are now commissioned at graduation to continue the spirit of Gan Eng Seng as they pursue education in the Junior Colleges, Centralised Institute, Polytechnics and other higher institutions of learning. They will add value to the community for GESSians are individuals of excellence, standing and significance because they give without reserve for the common good!

"ONWARD", indeed!
