Reminder to all Gessians:

  1. Staff and students are required to submit Travel Plan Declaration for the National Day long weekend from Monday, 2 August 0600hrs onwards. All Travel Plan declarations must be submitted by Thursday 5 August 0800hrs.

  2. Staff and students are required to submit Travel History Declaration for the National Day long weekend from Tuesday, 10 August 0001hr onwards. All Travel History declarations must be submitted by Friday 12 August, 0800hrs.

The preliminary rounds will start on 26 July, Monday. Please refer to the games schedule below. Players are to be in proper PE attire (class t-shirt with GESS shorts is acceptable). Please report to the venue on time.

READ! Singapore 2010 @ Gan Eng Seng School


On 18 July 2010, join Mrs Carolin Tan, our Principal, as she reads online! National Library Board (NLB), together with Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) presents READ!IT at this year’s READ!Singapore 2010. READ!IT will feature MPs and Celebrities reading simultaneously over two hours at 6 different venues on 18 July 2010.

DIRECT POLYTECHNIC ADMISSION 2010

Students who are interested in, and have the aptitude for applied learning may apply to confirm a places in polytechnic courses prior to taking your O level exams.   • Senior Gessian's Achievements at the 2009 GCE 'A' Level Examinations

    Yong Yong Chao Tommy(Class 4I, 2007) from Nanyang JC attained 8 distinctions altogether in the 2009 GCE 'A' Level Examinations. The subjects are:
    • H1 Project Work
    • H1 Chinese Language
    • H1 General Paper
    • H1 Economics
    • H2 Mathematics
    • H2 Physics
    • H2 Chemistry
    • H3 Organic Synthesis Mechanism (NTU)

    He represented the college at the Singapore Mathematical Olympiad, Physics Olympiad and the Chemistry Olympiad, in which he attained a Silver Award.

    He was also the Vice-chairperson of his class and Vice President of the Scholars Development Programme. He was also in Science Society and Biz Club.

    Tommy will be receiving the Student of the Year Award during Nanyang JC's 31st College Day this year. He has indeed done our school proud with his achievements. Onward GESSians!

  • National Earthquake Competition 2010 - Champion for Architectural Modelling Category & Merit Prize under the ""Resistant Structures"" Category

    On 22 March 2010, 5 D&T students from Sec 3E and Sec 4D took part in the 2nd National Earthquake Competition 2010 organised by Singapore Polytechnic.

    GESS 1 Team from Sec 3E has emerged as Champions under the "Architectural Modelling" Category. They have won themselves $300. The GESS 2 Team from Sec 4D won the Merit Prize under the "Resistant Structures" category and they have won themselves $100.

  • Congratulations to Chen Hanying - Champion at National Inter-school Individual (B division) Championships

    Chen Hanying (2C) has done GESS proud by earning the title of Champion at the 2010 National Inter-school Individual (B division) Championships.

    Another proud fact to note is that she had not lost a single match throughout the whole South Zone and National competitions.

  • Canoeing (B & C Division)

    The Canoe Sprint Team is proud to bring home the trophy for B Division Girls Team, 4th position. We are also delighted to lift the trophy for C Division Girls Team, 3rd position. Our boys did well too! We bagged 4 GOLD MEDALS!

  • The Financial Literacy Challenge - Champions!

    On 20 March, 6 of our E-Club members represented the school to participate in The Financial Literacy Challenge organized by the NTU FastForward Board Games Society.

    This Challenge aims to inculcate essential financial literacy knowledge in youth in Singapore through the use of games and is a Nationwide inter-school competition. One of our teams emerged champions at this challenge. They won $150 worth of board games for themselves and a challenge trophy for the school.

    The champion team consists of the following members.
    1. Janice Yeo Qi Fang from 4F
    2. Ho Kai Jie from 4G
    3. Nicholas Gan from 4G
  • Essay Writing Competition

    MUKUNDRAJ RAMAN SUDARSHAN (3H) won 4th prize for Essay Writing Competition at Raffles Institution's Literary Competitions 2010. More than 13 schs took part in this competiton.
  • Good Performance at 2009 A' Levels

    The following Senior Gessians have done very well in their GCE 'A' level examinations.

    From Anglo Chinese Junior College, Lim Yan Hui Rachel (Class 4G, 2006) will be receiving an award in the college's 124th Founder's Day Celebrations for her performance in the 2008 'A' levels.

    In the 2009 GCE 'A' Level Examinations:

    From Nanyang Junior College,
    1. Yeo Choon Lian ( Class 4I, 2007) scored 3 distinctions.
    2. Ng Li Lian (Class 4F, 2007) scored 4 distinctions.
    3. Yong Yong Chao Tommy (Class 4I, 2007) scored 8 distinctions.

    From Catholic Junior College, Casper Lee ZiHao (Class 4H,2007) scored 4 distinctions.

  • 2nd Runners-up in Table Tennis South Zone Competition

    The B Div(upper secondary) and C Div(lower secondary) have done well and attained positions 2nd Runners-up in the Table Tennis competition (South Zone).

    As a result of attaining top 4 positions, the teams are proudly advancing to the National Inter-school Competition, which will be held from 8 to 22 Mar 2010.
