Values of the term: Discipline & Integrity

Principal's Message

It is with much anticipation,we will witness how our Gessians arise to the idea of Cyber school. For two full days, Secondary 1 to 3 students have been entrusted by their teachers to learn at home, the e- way!

It was good to receive the feedback that many of you have been groomed to be self-directed learners in the past one or two years at GESS.For our Secondary One's, you must not take short-cuts.You must take the trust given to you and cultivate your confidence as learners and be actively contributing to collaborative efforts as demanded by some of your assignments.Walk in the good footsteps of your seniors.

Our teachers want to provide you with a more effective learning experience in order to better prepare you for the evolving role of your adult years.

Learning involves interaction between information, thinking and doing; meaningful learning can produce changes in you knowledge, disposition, attitude and behaviors. It is essential that students like you to develop intelligent behaviors that comprise attributes from cognitive and affective domains so that you can solve problems, make decisions and create ideas.

You are smart adolescents who attend school to become smarter. Smart people do not short change themselves. They make time to grow themselves as creative and critical thinkers who can learn independently throughout their lives.

Be Smart! Set Specific Goals, Measurable Goals, Achievable Goals, Realistic Goals, Time-framed Goals.

Enjoy the e-learning days and grow yourselves into better individuals.

Onward Gessians!

Principal's Message

Release of 2009 GCE O-Level Results

At Gan Eng Seng School (GESS), we are determined to know the strength of character in the GESS spirit in our 125 years of heritage.

Our faith lies in our School Creed penned by our sixth principal, Mr. Aroozoo. Thus our faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the living out our love for life, one another, love of mankind, love of life itself and love of God.

Our teachers' labour of love is the hallmark of the GESS education and the signature is the support of our School Advisory Committee (SAC), GESS Old Students' Assocaition (GESSOSA), which together with the parents of our students, we leave a legacy.

And now our GESSians are the living epistle (letter) of the credible legacy received and have arisen with the fire of leadership.

As they live the legacy, they will leave behind a legacy captured in the theme of the 125th Anniversary aptly stated as "Times of our Life".

They are now commissioned at graduation to continue the spirit of Gan Eng Seng as they pursue education in the Junior Colleges, Centralised Institute, Polytechnics and other higher institutions of learning. They will add value to the community for GESSians are individuals of excellence, standing and significance because they give without reserve for the common good!

"ONWARD", indeed!
